Program Information
The Ambassador Theater International Cultural Center hopes to expand its educational and theatrical activities in the future to include hosting art exhibitions and musical concerts pertaining to the selected culture; working with artists, writers, directors and poets to produce entertainment for adults and children in classical and contemporary works from selected cultures; and creating an interactive web site promoting different cultures.
The Center’s long-term vision includes offering highly professional live theater, classical and contemporary music performances, videos and interactive online programs, international poetry and drama readings, art exhibitions, special workshops and international meetings, operas and dance performances and student-interest and schools-interest driven array of classes for children and adults.
Interactive Learning
Each year, we will explore a different international culture. The Center will promote the culture and help the students learn through two interconnected programs - the Interactive Learning program and the Embassy Adoption program. The scope of the interactive learning is not limited to theater and drama. We will provide a special educational program of interactive learning that is specially designed to help teachers and students better comprehend cultural artistic compositions and find the joy in discovering new customs through art, music, dance, song, crafts, cooking, theater games, and performance. The Center is devoted to working with young students to increase their social skills, reading comprehension, movement, and speaking skills. In addition, we also incorporate more traditional teaching techniques, such as lectures, reading, and demonstrations.
Community Involvement
One of the key resources of the Ambassador Theater International Cultural Center is and will be the DC Metropolitan area itself. The Center strives to build close working relationships with various foreign embassies in the District of Columbia, and has already created a close relationship with the Embassy of the Republic of Poland. In addition, as a multicultural community, the Center aspires to find persons of diverse cultural and ethnic backgrounds to volunteer to work with us to organize special readings of new plays, art exhibits, musical concerts, lectures and discussions and to promote artists from around the world, and meet with artists of various backgrounds and working in various mediums.
